Immobilien Zeitung, online issue, 19 September 2013 “Major Cities the Winners”
Smaller major cities, such as Halle/Saale, Fürth, and Augsburg, are the winners in terms of condominium sales, wrote the Immobilien Zeitung in its newsletter. As far as the number of transactions goes, top performer Berlin has already outpaced Munich. Some metropolises are increasingly suffering from short supply. These are the findings of the latest Accentro Homeownership Report.
Housing privatisation company Accentro was said to have analysed the data provided by the surveyor committees of 82 major German cities. The analysis revealed that condominium sales added up to a total of 22.1 billion euros last year. This translates into an increase of 4.2 percent. Altogether 130,327 flats were reportedly sold last year. This would equal a one-percent decline year-on-year. Especially the brisk increase in sales points at a sustained positive trend on Germany's housing markets, said Jacopo Mingazzini, Managing Director of Accentro, a subsidiary of Estavis AG.
