The city of Ahrensburg lies in south-east Holstein (County of Stormarn) and north of Hamburg. Ahrensburg is known for its rustic beauty. Roughly one fourth of the city area consists of woodlands. The town centre around the city hall square of Ahrensburg is only two kilometres away, featuring a shopping mall and a broad high-street retail spectrum that covers any retail needs you might have. Especially young couples and families have lately moved out of the city into the Hamburg metro region as it presents a charming and easygoing alternative to life in the big city while keeping the urban amenities well within reach.
