Nestled into a line-up of classic period buildings, you will find a modest building more recently built at Kopfstrasse 20. It cleverly picks up on the lines of the neighbouring houses as if to demonstrate that even during the second half of the 20th century, people know how to integrate modern architecture proportionately and sensitively into historic structures. Over the past decade, Neukölln underwent a veritable boom cycle, evolving into one of Berlin’s trendiest boroughs. Local colour and Oriental vibrancy have actually enhanced the authentic charm of an area that is quite unique, even by Berlin standards. Neukölln has long turned into a trendy hotspot, and the fact has seriously boosted its status, elevating it to that of an attractive residential neighbourhood. There is nothing to suggest this trend might end any time soon, not least because the district still harbours plenty of potential.
